13 Days

Day 01/02 :
Paris – Delhi (flight)
  • Flight Paris/Delhi, arrives around noon or in the evening. 
  • Arrival at Delhi International Airport.
  • Assistance by a French-speaking representative, Welcome with a necklace of flowers to each of the participants. In the afternoon, discover Old Delhi and the Jama Mosque. A rickshaw ride to discover the small alleys of old Delhi. 
  • Transfer to your hotel and check-in.
  • Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 :
Arrival in LEH (LADAKH)

Very early morning departure to the airport for the LEH flight. Arrival assistance at Leh Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, transfer to hotel. Leh, the capital of Ladakh, is located at about 3,500 m above sea level. The half-day rest to acclimatize. In the afternoon, visit the Leh Palace, the largest palace in Ladakh built in the 16th century, facing the city of Leh with a majestic view. Leh Palace is just a 15-minute drive from your hotel.

Your next visit is the Shanti stupa (Peace Stupa). Which is a 15-minute drive from Leh Palace, with a great view of the whole city of Leh, the Indus River, Stok Kangri Pass, and Khardungla. It is a perfect place to witness a beautiful sunset and a beautiful evening with a panoramic view.

Day 04 :
Visits to LEH and Thiksey.

After breakfast at the hotel, full day trip to Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery and Stok Palace. Visit the Hemis Monastery in the morning, located about 40 km east of Leh. After crossing the mighty Indus River, you'll reach Hemis. Hemis Monastery is the largest Buddhist monastery in Ladakh and dates to the 16th century.

Later you will see the Thiksey Monastery which is about 20 km from Hemis.

It is located on top of a hill in the village of Thiksey built in the fifteenth century, which resembles the Potala Palace of Tibet. Lunch in a restaurant in Thiksey and rest for a while. In the afternoon, visit the Stok Palace which is in front of the Indus River. The Stok Palace is the last palace in Ladakh where the royal family resides to this day. There are museums illustrating the rich cultural heritage of ancient Ladakh. It is a breathtaking view of the upper Leh from the palace.

Later, return to the hotel in the evening, about a 30-minute drive away.

Day 05 :
Leh to Nubra Valley

After breakfast, the trip starts north of Leh, in the Nubra Valley via the Khardung La Pass (5,600 m above sea level) about 130 km/4-5 hours’ drive from Leh to reach the Nubra Valley. The Nubra Valley is the ancient Silk Road that traders used from China to Central Asia.

The Nubra Valley also shares the international border with Pakistan, about 100 km from Hunder, and the Siachen Glacier is also in the Nubra Valley.

Lunch on the way and in the afternoon, check-in at the hotel.

In the evening, you visit the Hunder Sand Dunes and enjoy a camel ride. Dinner and nightat the hotel in the Nubra Valley.

Day 06 :
Nubra to Pangong Lake

Breakfast at the hotel and visit to the Diskit Monastery located on top of a hill in Nubra. It is a magnificent view of the Nubra Valley from the Monastery of Disket. Another day's drive to Pangong Lake via the Shyok River and the road conditions are bumpy as the construction of the road is underway and about 160km/4-5 hours’ drive to reach Pangong lac and lunch en route.

 Pangong Lakeis located in eastern Ladakh and shares the international border with China.The lake is one of the saltiest brackish lakes in Asia and about 75% of the lake is under Chinese occupation. Pangong Lake is located at about 4000 meters above sea level, and the weather is a bit colder than in Leh. Enjoy the sunset in the evening and stargaze during the night at Pangong.

Day 07 :
Return to Leh

Early morning sunrise is a perfect therapy that one can enjoy experiencing at Pangong. After breakfast, return to Leh via Changla Pass (5300 m above sea level) about 150 km/4-5 hours’ drive and lunch en route.

In the evening, visit the Leh market.

Day 08 :
Drive to the Zanskar Valley

Early in the morning, check out from the hotel for a few days and start a long journey to the Zanskar Valley via the Monkey Pass There for about 240 km, 7 to 8 hours’ drive. Traveling this road is sure to be an adventure and an epic off-road experience. Continue along the Indus River in the Sham Valley in western Ladakh and you will reach the village of Wanla, then climb about 40 km to reach the Sirsir la Pass (4600m).

Some ancient villages like Hanupatta and Photoksar along the road and up to the La Monkey Pass (5100m).

Continue to Padum for about 105 km, en route to some other villages like Lingshed, Yu Chung, Neyrac and visit the Lingshed Monastery. After arriving in the Zanskar Valley, visit the historic Zangla Palace perched on top of a hill in Zangla Village before reaching Padum about 35 km away.

Check-in at the hotel in the evening.

Day 09 :
Visit the Zanskar Valley.

Full day tour of Zanskar, visit Karsha Monastery in the morning, 10 km from Padum, followed by Stongde Monastery built around 11th century, 20 km drive. Later, you visit the Shila Waterfall which is 15 km from Padum and visit the ancient Padum Palace and the rock art sculptures.

Day 10 :
Drive to Kargil

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Kargil for about 230 km (6 to 7 hours).

On the way, you will visit the Sani Monastery, which is 6 km from Padum, followed by a visit to Dzongkha, an impressive cave monastery located about 30 km from Zanskar.

The next destination is Rangdum Monastery, 104 km from Padum, visit the monastery on top of a small hill and rest for lunch.

The Zanskar - Kargil Road passes through beautiful villages in the fertile Suru Valley adorned with glaciers and the imposing Nun-Kun peaks (7135 m). From the Penzila hill(4400m), one has a spectacular view of the white glaciers of Drank-Drunk, one of the largest glaciers in Ladakh with a length of 23 km and an average altitude of 4750m.

Later, continue your drive to Kargil.

Check-in at the hotel and overnight in Kargil.

Day 11 :
Return to Leh

Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru, stop at Mulbekh which is 40 km from Kargil.

You see the Mulbekh Rock carving an impressive 9m high figure of Maitreya Buddha carved into a rock face that is over 1000 years old. Later, drive to Lamayuru via two small passes, Makhila Pass and Foula Pass, for about 100 km. You see the Lamayuru Monastery located on top of a mud hill, it is a magnificent view of the monastery, with a short stop in Moonland and drive to Alchi for about 55 km along the Indus River.

Lunch en route to Lamayuru/Khalsi. After crossing the Indus River, visit the Alchi Temple which is the oldest temple in Ladakh and dates to the 11th century. Later, drive to Liker Monastery, located 20 km from Alchi and return to Leh in the evening for a 1-hour drive.

Day 12 :
Flight to Delhi

Early morning transfer to the airport. Flight departs to Delhi.

Arrival in Delhi, orientation tour of the city, lunch in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel, farewell dinner. Sharing the best memories of the stay.

Day 13 :
Delhi - Brussels

Breakfast and transfer to the airport for departure to Brussels.

Possibility to add the extension of AGRA AND TAJ MAHAL 2 nights / 3 days more on request.
